Selling branded products to your members can seem like a daunting challenge. However, at Fully Amped we're not just here to provide top-quality apparel—we're here to equip you with the knowledge to sell effectively and efficiently. Apparel plays a crucial role in fostering community and strengthening the bond among CrossFit enthusiasts.
Establishing a Well-Structured Strategy!
Avoid overwhelming your members with random, massive merch drops. Instead, consider strategic merch drops 4-6 times a year. This approach transforms the purchasing experience into more digestible collections, preventing decision paralysis and creating a consistent "culture of apparel" at your gym. Our merchandise has a proven track record of bringing CrossFit communities closer together.
Pre-Ordering Inventory!
Prevent the challenge of moving excess inventory by adopting a pre-order system. Engage with your members to gauge interest, order accordingly, and consider a buffer of 5-10 extra pieces for potential latecomers. This not only maximizes profits but also reinforces the culture of apparel within your gym.
Communicating with Your Members!
Exceptional apparel won't move if nobody knows about it. Strengthen your relationship with members by seeking their feedback and design ideas. Promote your apparel at CrossFit events, gatherings, and within your community. Fully Amped offers a program to capture engaging content for your social platforms, elevating your gym's culture and online presence.
Incorporate these strategies to not only boost sales and profit margins but also to fortify the bond between you and your members. CrossFit is more enjoyable as a community, and implementing these tips won't consume much of your time. The Fully Amped team, with over a decade of experience, is here to support every step of your journey. If you have any questions or concerns, reach out—we're ready to help you get amped!💪

]]>This week we would like to start at the ground floor with your CrossFit® Affiliate license agreement and why it's important when it comes to producing apparel for your Box.
Below are a few key details that can help you navigate the world of producing your own custom CrossFit® Affiliate apparel.
1. Legally, you can only produce apparel with your full CrossFit® Affiliate name.
It may tempting to utilize your fantastic affiliate name in unique ways for your apparel. However, if your full affiliate name is not displayed on the apparel that is being sold, it a violation of the CrossFit® Affiliate Agreement. For example, one of our closest affiliates "Diablo CrossFit®" has to have their full name splet out other rather than just "DC".Â
Â
2. Read CrossFit® Affiliate Agreement Section 1.1(v) and (d) located on Page 2-3 of your Agreement.
This section addresses the production of "Promotional Materials", which includes CrossFit® Affiliate apparel and your officially licensed name with CrossFit® Inc.
3. Read CrossFit® Affiliate Agreement Section 1.3 (a-e) located on Page 4-6 of your Agreement.
Read this section to its entirety as it addresses the 'Ownership of Marks' and explains how that impacts your CrossFit® Affiliate brand.
As the 'Official provider of CrossFit® Affiliate Apparel' we also have to follow the guidelines set forth in the CrossFit® Affiliate license agreement, much like you at your own box. It's important to all of us here at Fully Amped that we help our Affiliates understand how to be cxompliant with their licensing agreement as it relates to apparel.
Any questions regarding your CrossFit® licensing agreement? We suggest emailing CrossFit® Affiliate support at affiliatesupport@crossfit.com.
]]>Here are the top 3 tips we've learned through the years to maximize your retail revenue at your CrossFit®Affiliate:
1. Your Lobby is the way to go!
Whether your customer is coming or going, that is where you what to start. No matter your available space or the limitations, let's work with what you've got. Having your merchandise in a place that is accessible to your customers before and after their workout is crucial. Nobody is going to buy anything if they can't see it. Try different spots around your box and see what works best for you and your members!
2. Promote, promote, promote
Put your gear on your coaches during class, feature your latest design and stamp "Coach" on the back and send an email to your membership featuring your newest design. Do you sell supplements? If so who uses them and why? Discuss with your members why you carry what you carry. Don't just put things on the shelves and expect them to sell, inform your members, educate them and watch your retail sales climb!
3. Make your markup
For most items...mark it up 100%! For example, if you buy athletic tape for $1, sell it for $2 and help maintain a healthy bottom line. For Fully Amped apparel, 40% is your magic number, buy a t-shirt wholesale with no quantity minimum at $20 and sell for $28.
We encourage you to take these 3 simple steps and implement them immediately, just a little attention to retail at your Box can pay tremendous dividends. Owning a successful small business has enough challenges, let us help you maximize your retail revenue.Â
Â
]]>We suggest you take a moment to remind your members what the Murph workout is all about. Some of your members only know who Hero Michael Murphy was by watching the movie Lone Survivor or through casual conversation at your Box, but do they really know? What about the workout itself? Where did it come from? Why did CrossFit® single it out?
Murphy, who was awarded the U.S. military's highest decoration, the Medal of Honor for his actions during the war in Afghanistan loved this workout. The "Murph" Hero WOD was originally posted on CrossFit's site as the WOD on Thursday August 18, 2005.Â
"This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it 'Body Armor.' From here on it will be referred to as 'Murph' in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is."Â
As "Murph" has become one of the most famous CrossFit® workouts that we do once...maybe twice a year, Michael Murphy had this in his regular rotation. So not only do we honor a true American Hero by doing an incredibly difficult WOD in his name on Memorial Day, but we are doing his workout. As we site here 14 years later ask your members during that first mile to take a couple seconds to remember that they are spending just a moment in Hero Michael Murphy's shoes.
In honor of Memorial Day we have launched a new design, "Your Are Never Out Of The Fight". This design is customizable to your CrossFit® Affiliate and with Memorial Day fast approaching contact us today and we can have this design available on your store within 48 hours.Â
Your "Murph" is 17 days away, get prepared, go at your own pace and be sure to enjoy the experience!
Â
]]>According to a 2018 report referenced in Box Pro Magazine leading Box owners generate an additional $1,779 a month with retail sales. You just need to put in a little dedicated effort and watch your retail sales grow almost immediately.
Take advantage of your retail space no matter the size:
First, rotate your apparel. Offering new designs seasonally will drive apparel sales and order only what you need from Fully Amped with no quantity minimums.
Second, it's not about the quantity of what you display, it is the quality. If you only have enough room to hang two items, make them your most popular seller, not just something you had in stock. You have to stock the shelves with stuff that is actually selling, not what you may want to sell due to stock.
Do you actually use the products you sell?
Even if you are ultimately just trying to increase your bottom line, what is the point if you are not helping your members in the process? Selling products that you yourself believe in and recommend will do wonders in the sales department.
It is important that you sell only supplements and gear that you use yourself so your recommendations are true and easily made. Assisting your athletes to become better through your own experience is tried and true. CrossFit® is not a transactional business, it's a community and this approach ties directly into retail success.
What can I find the time to tackle retail?
We have come across a lot of Affiliates that previously avoided retail completely. Whether it was abandoning the opportunity entirely or only doing apparel pre-sale orders we've experienced and quite frankly...done it all.Â
Making the transaction simple is key. Many boxes doesn't have staff at a retail area or front desk so we needed to be creative. We found that many members preferred to make their purchases unmanned and on the honor system. So we recommend creating an environment so they could do so without requiring a Coach to stop coaching.
It should be simple for your Athlete to walk up to the wall, grab a t-shirt, sign/pay and walk away.Â
Don't let time and ease of use stand between you and your additional $12K a year.
]]>Obvious question, do CrossFitters love t-shirts? A resounding YES!
What do you currently charge for a drop in at your CrossFit® Affiliate? The common answer among affiliates is $20. Besides a work out, som boxes include a t-shirt, ordered from Fully Amped and shipped directly to the visitors front door. They don't have to pack any additional stuff, they have a fantastic experience at the Box and when they get home they have a shirt waiting for them that memorializes their experience. This also establishes a potential future customer by introducing them to new designs when they become available.
With no quantity minimums, we also have a few designs displayed so if they want to take their shirt immediately they also have that option. However, more designs are available on Fully Amped.
Â
The key is the transaction and how to manage that. Try to keep things as simple as possible to ensure an excellent customer experience. Currently the majority of CrossFit® drop ins prefer to pay in cash, however as many people have often times paid in advance via credit card. So how would this translate into ordering a shirt from Fully Amped?
With cash purchases when signing the waiver many affiliates have visitors select their shirt via whatever device we are using, be it a computer or iPad and provide their shipping details. Then at the end of each shift / day our administrative staff orders the shirt and completes the transaction. Sure, it's a bit of a manual process but the visitor has a tremendous customer service experience.
If your Box primarily uses credit card transactions for drop ins you can link your custom URL to the reservation process that allows your visitor to go onto Fully Amped at their own convenience. This option lets you even have the opportunity for a potential up sell.Â
The goal in all of this is to memorialize your visitors experience, build your brand outside of your membership and at the end of the day make additional money through retail sales. Nobody ever turns down a shirt!
If you have any further questions regarding how we handle drop ins and how we integrate Fully Amped into the process to sell more of your CrossFit® Affiliate apparel please contact us at info@fullyamped.com.
]]>The Open is such a strong community event that some Affiliates struggle to keep excitement from coming to a halt. As Greg Glassman has famously said "People can quit a gym, but they won't quit relationships". CrossFit is not a transactional business it is a relationship business and the following 13 things are practices we do to keep our members engaged.
1. Equal attention for all. All of your athletes are important and everybody requires coaching. Make it a point to hit everyone in your class and use their first name. Give each athlete something specific to work on and be sure to check back with them.
2. Change isn't bad. Fitness is always changing. Stick to your core mission, however listen to your members, they are your business.Â
3. Understand what your Member wants. Take time to talk to your members, find out why they CrossFit and what they are looking to accomplish. This goes for old and new members alike. When they can tell you why they come to your Box, helping them achieve their goals becomes much easier.
4. Community, community, community. It's not all just about CrossFit. Set up a regular schedule of community events where people can engage with each other over more than just the CrossFit® class. For example, you can host a BBQ at your box or maybe even a movie night. Any sort of event that draws your members not only closer to you as their coach but also to each other.
5. Partner workouts! Transform your CrossFit box with partner workouts! They're not just workouts; they're a community-building powerhouse. Keep your members engaged, connected, and excited about fitness together – the secret ingredient to a thriving CrossFit community!
6. Get Personal. Engage with your members on a personal level. What are their hobbies, who are their favorite teams, what is their favorite workout or lift? Stay mobile and touch base with everyone.Â
7. Birthday shoutouts! Have fun with it, name your workouts in honor of the birthday that day. At the beginning of class, tell your athletes to wish NAME a happy birthday and list your birthday's for the month on your monthly newsletter.
8. Explain your programming. Have your coaches explain why we continue to work certain movements, what we are trying to accomplish and what results we are striving for. For Example, some boxes have started a 12-week strength cycle. At the beginning of every class, the coaches explain what they are doing, why they are doing it and what they are trying to accomplish. The coaches continue to speak openly about it welcoming questions and targeting results.
9. Fist bumps after every class. Fist bumps are a fantastic and simple way to engage with your members! After every workout, try turning the music down and encourage every member to walk around and give everyone a fist bump. No matter how exhausted people are every time the community ends with a fist bump.
10. Spotlight a member(s) of the month. Every month feature in your newsletter a member or members of the month. Interview the member and take pictures, really showcase them. Why do they love CrossFit®, what is their favorite movement, what have they achieved while being a member.
11. In-House competitions. Hosting different challenges throughout the year can help motivate members to get more involved with the box. By charging a small fee to enter the challenge, your athletes automatically become more committed to the goal. Then between member donations and the fee itself you can create a diverse pool of prizes to reward a range of categories. For example, you can host a nutrition challenge where you have to drink a certain amount of water a day and you loose points for every beer you drink. It's these small light hearted competitions that drive the community forward.Â
12. Goal Board. Encourage members to document their goals and their progress. This goes back to number 2 above. Understanding where your member is starting and what they want to achieve helps you understand how you can assist them in reaching their goals! this because you get to see exactly what people are looking for. For example, you could have a focus on pull-up progression ultimately aiming for some people to achieve their first bar muscle up.Â
13. Survey your members. Feedback can be scary but reference a great saying "If your not evolving, your dying" - Marcus Lemonis. Within our communities a traditional survey wouldn't fly, but approaching feedback one question at a time and casually can provide the feedback you need.

]]>Unlock the secrets to boosting your CrossFit® Affiliate's revenue! Discover five insider tips, from selling what you believe in to simplifying the purchase process. Let's turn your retail game into a powerhouse. Are you ready for the game-changer? 🚀 #CrossFitBusiness #RetailSuccess
]]>Owning a small business is a wild ride, and for many CrossFit® Affiliates, the retail game often feels like a tricky puzzle. Been there, felt that. But guess what? We've cracked the code and amped up our monthly retail revenue with five game-changing tips:
1. Sell What You Believe In: We're all about trust. Only endorse products you genuinely believe in. Our rule? If we're not using it ourselves, it doesn't make the cut.
2. Spread The Word: Ever been so excited about something you can't help but shout it from the rooftops? That's the energy you need. We share our all of our affiliates products on social media and make our Fully Amped Store the talk of our website.
3. Sample The Product for Free: Remember the joy of a Costco sample? Well, try bringing that magic into your gym. Letting members try before they buy builds trust and ensures they get a taste of quality.
4. Make It Visible:Â If they can't see it, they won't buy it. A well-designed setup can work wonders.
5. Make It Easy To Purchase: We've all been in those stores where buying feels like rocket science. Not our style. Simplify the payment process, even allowing unmanned purchases through a slick purchase sheet. No cash, no problem.
Ready to amp up your retail game and watch that monthly revenue climb? Trust us; it's a game-changer!
Adapted from CrossFit Founder and CEO Greg Glassman’s Level 1 Certificate Course lectures Feb. 27, 2016, in San Jose, California; March 27, 2016, in Aromas, California; and April 24, 2016, in Oakland, California.
In 2002, we observed that almost any health parameter sits well ordered on a continuum of values that ranged from sick to well to fit. Take high-density lipoproteins (HDL cholesterol), for instance: At less than 35 mg/dL you have a problem, 50 mg/dL is nice, and 75 mg/dL is a whole lot better. Blood pressure: 195/115 mm Hg you have a problem, 120/70 mm Hg is healthy, and 105/50 mm Hg looks more like an athlete. Triglycerides, bone density, muscle mass, body fat, hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c, aka glycated hemoglobin)—all can be plotted relative to these three values.
The significance is that these are the predictors, the cause and the manifestation of chronic disease. Chronic diseases include obesity, coronary heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, stroke, cancer (to include breast, colon and lung, but my theory is this will include all the positron-emission-tomography-positive cancers eventually, which is 95 percent of all cancers), Alzheimer’s, peripheral artery disease, advanced biological aging, drug addiction, among others.
It is very likely that if you have any chronic disease, you have deranged markers. If you have Alzheimer’s, you would see your HDL suppressed, your blood pressure up, your triglycerides up, your body fat up, your muscle mass down, your bone density down, your HbA1c high, etc. The same is true with diabetes. The same is true with most cancers.
Medicine has no effective treatment for chronic disease: It is symptomatic only. The doctor gives you a drug to bring your cholesterol down, a different drug to raise your bone density. You might need bariatric surgery if you have morbid obesity. If you have paved-over coronary arteries, they can do bypass surgery. If you become glucose intolerant, the doctor can put you on insulin. But all of these are not fixes. They are masking the problem. If you have persistent malignant hypertension, you should take an antihypertensive if you cannot get your blood pressure down otherwise. But how would you get it down otherwise?
CrossFit Inc. holds a uniquely elegant solution to the greatest problem facing the world today. It is not global warming or climate change. It is not the worst two choices imaginable for president. It is chronic disease. The CrossFit stimulus—which is constantly varied high-intensity functional movement coupled with meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar—can give you a pass on chronic disease. It is elegant in the mathematical sense of being marked by simplicity and efficacy. It is so simple.
The Sickness-Wellness-Fitness Continuum.
Seventy percent of deaths in the United States are attributable to chronic disease. Of the 2.6 million people who died in the United States in 2014, about 1.8 million died from chronic disease. This pattern of increasing deaths due to chronic diseases also holds in countries that are ravaged by infectious disease. The numbers are rising, and when we finally add the positron-emission-tomography-positive cancers in, the number might be 80-85 percent in the United States. It is estimated by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) that the United States could have up to a hundred million diabetics in 2050. That will affect everyone. You will not go into the emergency room for something as simple as a broken arm: You will be seeing heart attacks on every corner. Medicine has no solution; you do. CrossFit—with meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar—will help you avoid all of this.
The other 30 percent are dying from accidents that come in four “-ic” variants: kinetic, genetic, toxic and microbic. Kinetic: physical trauma, car crash, hit on a bike. Toxic: environmental toxins, such as lead poisoning. Genetic: genetic disorders like cystic fibrosis, you are born with it. Microbic: virus, bacteria, prions.
This is where treatment can be symptomatic. This is where the miracles of medicine are. If you have got a genetic disorder that is making you sick, you need a doctor. If you have been poisoned, you need a doctor. If you caught a nasty virus or a flesh-eating bacteria, you need a doctor. You do not need to go to the gym, and you do not need burpees.
Doctors are like lifeguards; CrossFit trainers are like swim coaches. When you are drowning, you do not need a swim coach. You needed one, and you did not get one. What you need is a lifeguard. We will teach people how to swim, and when they do not pay attention and they go under, the doctors take care of it.
Accidents are largely stuff you can do nothing about, but there is one exception. Be fit. Kinetic: We hear stories from war of CrossFitters who survive things that people have not survived previously. Toxicity: Someone who is fitter is more likely to survive the same poisoning than someone who is not. Genetic: There are genes you have inherited that will or will not express because of your behavior through diet and exercise. Microbic: Who is most vulnerable to viral pneumonia? The frail, the feeble. So fitness offers a protection here.
But assume there is no protection from fitness because what you need in terms of preventing accidents largely is luck. Luck—there is no “good luck” versus “bad luck”—looks like not having these things happen to you. Seventy percent of what kills people can be addressed by what CrossFit trainers do, and the other 30 percent of deaths occur based on luck, so get fit and do not think about luck. If you stand around worried about germs, worried about the tire that is going to come through the windshield, worried about breathing toxic air and worried about your genes, you are wasting your time. It will not make you happy. It will not make you better. It will not make you safer. You are not going to live any longer.
This sums to my “kinetic theory of health.” The singular focus on kinematics—increasing work capacity, increasing your fitness—is how to avoid chronic disease. Just get a better Fran time, better deadlift, better Diane time, and do all the things that would support a better Fran time—like eating meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar; getting plenty of sleep; and maybe taking some fish oil. After that, we are out of stuff that matters.
With that singular focus on work capacity, we can avoid chronic disease and there is nothing really to worry about. You have the lifestyle answer. Make it to the gym, eat like we tell you, and enjoy yourself.
We have hacked health. Here is the magic formula for you:
Fitness + Luck (bad) = Health.
It is the part you can do something about plus the part you can do nothing about that sums to your outcome. So make the most out of fitness and you will not be part of the seven out of 10 who die unnecessarily due to lifestyle. In the end, chronic disease is a deficiency syndrome. It is sedentation with malnutrition.
CrossFit Founder and CEO Greg Glassman.
The cost of chronic disease is such that U.S. medical expenditure is now about $4 trillion a year. In 2008, Price Waterhouse Cooper estimated that roughly half of all U.S. medical expenditure was wasted on unnecessary procedures, administrative inefficiencies, treatment of preventable conditions and so on. Add in fraud and abuse and we are wasting well more than a trillion dollars. We also know 86 percent of overall health-care spending goes to treating the chronically diseased ineffectively. Of the remaining 14 percent, half goes to the stuff that medicine can actually do something about. That means seven percent of health-care spending is not wasted. The amount spent on chronic disease is a waste.
What CrossFit trainers are providing is non-medical health care. When doctors treat those affected by accidents (the 30 percent), that is medical health care. If you are confused about the two, it is easy to distinguish by methods and tools. If someone is cut open, given radiation, prescribed pills, injected with syringes, it is medicine. It is treatment by a doctor.
On our side, it looks like CrossFit. We have rings, dumbbells, pull-up bars, our own bodies—and the prescription is universal. It is not to treat disease. It does not matter where you fall on this continuum: You get put on the same program. If the prescription is universal, it cannot be medicine. If it is something everyone needs—like air or oxygen—that is not medicine.
Without vitamin C, you can get scurvy. Should physicians control orange and lemon groves, onion and kale production because they have vitamin C that you cannot live without? We do not want them doing that to food. We cannot let them do that to exercise, and there is a powerful movement with a lot of funding afoot to do exactly that. Millions of dollars are being spent to bring exercise into the purview of the medical arena so that it falls under the Affordable Care Act.
We have 13,000 gyms with 2 to 4 million people safe from chronic disease right now. This community is doing a lot of good things on a lot of fronts. Yet our gyms are thriving not because of our impact on chronic disease. They are thriving because the end users, the customers, are extremely happy with the transformation. And it is part physical, part emotional, part health markers, part relationships.
That is the miracle of CrossFit: People are getting something that they did not even know they wanted or needed.
]]>"Why should I order my apparel for my CrossFit® gym on Fully Amped with Print-on-demand instead of going to my local screen printer?"
The answer requires some self-reflecting...Ask yourself, what is the price you really pay when it comes to screen printing?
Here are the main things you should consider when answering this question:
1. How much do they charge to set up the screen?
2. How much do they charge to ship the garments to my Box?
3a. What is the quantity minimum that I must order?
andÂ
3b. If doing a pre-order how much time do I spend on fulfillment?
4. How do I handle and how much time do I spend on returns?
5. Where do I store my apparel?
6. How do I properly track inventory and protect from theft?
7. How much time do I spend on size exchanges?
8. What do I do with the apparel I can't move?
As previous CrossFit® Affiliate owners, we had to ask ourselves these same difficult questions and unfortunately, the answers kept us from taking advantage of retail opportunities at our Box. Until now...
At fullyamped.com you can design, print and purchase your CrossFit® Affiliate apparel with minimal setup fees, no quantity minimums and apparel delivered right to the doorstep of your customer within a matter of days. Your revenue share is delivered monthly and with our 100% satisfaction guarantee, you'll have a plethora of happy members.

]]>First, What is Print on Demand?
It's the technology that has taken the fashion industry by storm. Products are printed digitally when you need them in whatever quantity you desire.Â
Although Print on demand has already changed industries such as the book publishing industry evolving technology has shaken the apparel screen printing industry to its core.Â
Here are the top 3 reasons why your CrossFit® Affiliate should be on Fully Amped!
We understand as a CrossFit® Affiliate, cash flow can be challenging. Print on demand allows you to direct money from what previously may have been sitting in inventory to what your gym really needs.
It’s awesome! Fully Amped pays for the order, collects money from the customer and at the end of every month you receive an ACH or check from your total sales of CrossFit® Affiliate apparel. You don’t need to spend anything on stock, unless you want to and again...at no minimum quantity.Â
You’ve just eliminated the need to spend cash on gear that either may not sell or will sit in inventory for long periods of time. You can now direct that cash towards the things your gym needs, such as marketing, dumbbells, whatever.Â
You stop spending cash + you make cash = BOOM!🤯
2. Digital printing
The print on demand model is due to the many advancements in digital printing technology.
Print on demand uses a method of printing called Direct to Garment (DTG). It’s essentially modified inkjet printing technology that is capable of achieving the same photo-quality prints but on t-shirts and other garments.
Digital printing is superior in almost every way to bulk printing methods like screen-printing. It’s capable of ridiculously high quality prints that last, AND you can print literally anything you like, as long as it has CrossFit® in it.Â
We combine printing on demand with your order fulfillment. So the same company (Fully Amped) prints your products on demand, and then fulfills the orders on your behalf.
Fully Amped's product range doesn’t stop at t-shirts either, hoodies and tanks are also available so you can develop a product range that suits your Box perfectly.
Printing on demand is awesome and considering Fully Amped is a smart move for your CrossFit® Box.
